Keeper Security, the leading provider of zero-trust, zero-knowledge and FedRAMP Authorized cybersecurity software, today announces the launch of Share Admin, a powerful new feature for its award-winning Enterprise Password Management (EPM) Platform. Share Admin is a role-based permission that gives designated administrators elevated access rights over their organization’s shared folders and shared records. The feature provides Share Admins with full user and record privileges for any shared record they have access to.
Keeper’s enterprise security and cyber threat prevention protects access to applications, systems, secrets and IT resources with a zero-trust and zero-knowledge architecture. In support of least-privileged access, Share Admin permissions are granted via Role-Based Enforcement Policies. This provides the ability to grant Share Admin rights to a limited group of administrators and provide elevated access rights to your organization’s shared records and folders. And with Keeper’s actionable and flexible reporting analytics, if a user has Share Admin access to records in a compliance report, this will be shown in the report.
Share Admin includes the ability to:
Add and Remove Users or Records- Share Admins can add or remove users and records from shared folders, no matter who owns the record.
Change Record Permissions- Share Admins can change record permissions of any record within a shared folder or a direct share.
Change Shared Folder Default Folder Settings- Share Admins can change the default folder settings of any shared folder.
Delete Shared Folders- Share Admins can delete shared folders or shared records.
Transfer Record Ownership- Share Admins have full record edit permissions including the right to transfer ownership of single or multiple records at once. To transfer ownership of multiple records, select the records, then right-click to reveal the context menu and select “transfer ownership”.
The feature is easy to use. From the Admin Console, the current administrator assigns a role with the new Share Admin privilege. From the Vault, the administrator then adds the Share Admin user to any folder or record and that user will immediately have full access rights to the designated shared folders. Share Admin simplifies the process of editing record permissions when there are multiple users who contribute to a Shared Folder with mixed permissions, or if shared folders were created with unintentionally restrictive settings. Records can be transferred without having to completely transfer an entire vault. Additionally, rights can be temporarily elevated to make folder permission and record changes.
