About Groupe Beneteau

Groupe Beneteau is a global leader in shipbuilding, with headquarters in France and more than 7,000 employees around the world. Today, the company manufactures more than 180 models of yachts, sailboats and catamarans, in addition to building leisure homes in Europe. While Beneteau has broadened its horizons since its founding in 1884, when it built some of the first motorised trawlers for local fishermen, the company has held steadfast to its signature combination of industrial excellence and fine craftsmanship.

The Challenge

Because of its global operations and workforce, Groupe Beneteau needed a secure and flexible approach to enterprise password management.

Previously, the company used its browser's built-in password manager, but it didn’t meet the high standards set forth by the IT team. The browser’s built-in password manager exposed employee passwords to extraction, lacked security standards to protect passwords and failed to grant visibility into password strength. In turn, the IT team sought control over employee passwords to protect the company.

There are a lot of attacks today that use brute force. It is absolutely necessary to limit these possibilities by securing passwords.

The Keeper Solution

The rising prevalence of cyber attacks, as well as the lack of security of their browser's built-in password manager, spurred Groupe Beneteau to search for a password management solution. Magnier and team surveyed a few options and chose Keeper because it had "many capabilities that were present in a single solution" while other solutions "offered each feature individually, but never all in one."

Keeper enables Groupe Beneteau to securely share credentials and communicate efficiently. The company’s preferred methods of two-factor authentication (2FA) are available through Keeper, and KeeperFill®, Keeper's secure browser extension, allows users to instantly autofill credentials online.

Many employees are also using One-Time Share, a time-limited method to share sensitive information or credentials, regardless of whether the recipient has a Keeper account. For the IT team, role-based access controls have ensured that IAM reflects the organisational structure of the business and that employees and contractors in the organisation have the least access necessary to do their job.

We have complete confidence in the system when we know that the generation of keys linked to passwords means that even administrators of Keeper do not have access to our own passwords.

Benefits of Enterprise Password Management

Secure

Keeper is a zero-knowledge, zero-trust password management solution. This means all information stored in Keeper is only accessible by the end-user. All encryption and decryption are done on the client’s device, and the data is encrypted both in transit (TLS) and at rest on Keeper’s Infrastructure (AES-256).

The plaintext version of the data is never available to Keeper Security employees or any outside party. Keeper is fanatical about protecting customer data, but in the unlikely event Keeper was hacked, the only thing the attackers could possibly access is worthless ciphertext.

Improve Password Awareness and Behavior

Most businesses have limited visibility into the password practices of their employees, which greatly increases cyber threats. Password hygiene cannot be improved without critical information regarding password usage and compliance. Keeper solves this by providing comprehensive password reporting, auditing, analytics and notifications.

Securely Share your Passwords

Each user has a set of public and private encryption keys used for encrypting the vault, sharing password records and messages between users. Shared information is encrypted with the recipient's public key.

Fast Time-to-Security

Keeper is intuitive and easy to deploy regardless of the size of your business. Keeper integrates with Active Directory and LDAP servers which streamlines provisioning and onboarding. Use Keeper SSO Connect® to integrate into your existing SSO solution.

Keeper Scales with your Business

Keeper was designed to scale for any sized business. Features such as role-based permissions, team sharing, departmental auditing and delegated administration support your business as it grows. Keeper Commander™ provides robust APIs to integrate into current and future systems.
