Keeper Security is excited to announce that passphrases are now supported for mobile platforms on Android and coming soon for iOS, extending the same passphrase experience
Keeper Security is pleased to announce significant improvements to the Security Audit tab of the Admin Console for business users, as well as the Browser Extension for organizations and individuals alike. The updates include a refreshed User Interface (UI) for both, new functionality to refresh and reset Security Audit scores, the ability to generate a passphrase via the Browser Extension and more.

Security Audit improvements
The Security Audit tab of the Admin Console provides admins with visibility into security practices from an organizational level down to the individual user level. As a reminder, zero-knowledge encryption is still preserved, and admins cannot see the user’s passwords.
Refreshed user interface
The UI of the Security Audit tab has been refreshed with a new design that makes it easier for admins to identify areas that need their attention to improve security at the organization. The logic to calculate the security score remains unchanged.
Password strength, password reuse and 2FA status factor into the security score, and each has its own card on the Security Audit tab, now under the overall security score. If a card has a 100% score (e.g., no reused passwords exist), the card will be in a collapsed state; otherwise, the card will stay expanded to display additional details.
New record password strength categories
The Record Password Strength categories on the user details table now match the Vault: Weak, fair, medium and strong. By default, the table is sorted by the users’ overall Security Audit score, showing the users with the lowest score first. The order can be reversed, or you can choose to sort by the user’s name, specific Record Password Strength, number of reused or unique passwords or the type of 2FA enabled.
Refresh and reset audit scores
Admins can now refresh security scores in the Admin Console without logging out and logging back in. As a reminder, users’ latest security scores are synced with the Admin Console each time they log in to their Vaults. Now, admins simply click the Refresh Scores button to sync the latest scores.
Admins can also now reset security scores directly from the Admin Console if the scores get out of sync with the end-user Vaults. This can be done either for the entire enterprise or specific users. Please note that only Root Admins can reset the Security Audit score.
The Reset Scores button on the Security Audit tab will reset the scores for the entire organization. Once this button is clicked, the scores will sync to the Admin Console when users log in to their Vaults.
To reset the score of an individual user, navigate to the User Details modal and select Reset Security Score under User Actions.
Browser Extension enhancements
We’ve significantly improved the Browser Extension to enhance the user experience and provide access to the core functionality users need directly in the extension. Don’t have the Browser Extension? Download it here.

Landscape mode
Users now have the option to expand the Browser Extension window into landscape mode to view both the record detail and record list at the same time. With the click of a button, users can switch back to the traditional portrait mode at any time.
New passphrase generator
Passphrases can now be generated via the updated Password Generator. To do so, choose Passphrase under the Type dropdown and select your criteria, such as how many words, whether capitals and numbers should be included and what separator to use. You can also save these settings as the default to use next time.
Improved password generator
The Password Generator now allows users to toggle on or off which symbols will be used in their randomly generated passwords. The previous version of the Password Generator only allowed users to enable or disable symbols entirely. Users can now also choose to include or exclude both lowercase and uppercase letters. Just like the Passphrase Generator, these custom settings can be saved as the default.
Other improvements
Keeper has also made some other minor improvements by adding quality-of-life features.
- Vault shortcut – Open your Web Vault in a new tab by clicking on the Keeper logo in the top left of the Browser Extension window.
- Set default tab-to-icon setting to “off” – The Keeper form field icon will no longer be highlighted when a user hits the tab key. This setting can be re-enabled under Accessibility in settings.
- Clearer Browser Extension settings – Most of the names and descriptions in the Browser Extension settings have been updated to clarify what they do, how to use them and why you may want to.
- Inactivity logout timer – The logout timer now includes hours and days alongside minutes. An error message now displays if you exceed the maximum values set by Keeper or your administrator.
- Screen reader compatibility – The content that screen reader software reads out loud when using the Browser Extension has been simplified to improve the user experience for visually impaired users.
