GigaOm has recognized Keeper Security in the Enduring Innovators quadrant of its 2026 Radar Report for Enterprise Password Management. This marks the fifth consecutive year that
Keeper Security has been recognized in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Privileged Access Management (PAM), the Gartner evaluation of vendors in the PAM market. Gartner also included Keeper Security in its companion report, Critical Capabilities for Privileged Access Management, which assesses vendors against specific PAM use cases and capabilities.
Continue reading to learn what the Magic Quadrant measures, where Keeper is placed, which aspects of KeeperPAM Gartner assessed and what the Critical Capabilities research found.
What is the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Privileged Access Management?
The Gartner Magic Quadrant for Privileged Access Management is an annual research report that assesses vendors in the PAM market based on two dimensions: Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute. The Magic Quadrant gives security and technology leaders a holistic view of the PAM vendor landscape based on the Gartner evaluation criteria. On a two-dimensional grid, vendors are plotted according to their position across the two axes:
- Completeness of Vision: Assesses the ability to understand customer needs and translate them into products and services.
- Ability to Execute: Evaluates core products offered by the vendor that compete in or serve the defined market. This includes current product capabilities, quality, feature sets and documentation in multiple product categories.
What the Gartner Critical Capabilities research found
While the Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors at the market level, the Gartner Critical Capabilities research examines how products support defined PAM use cases and capabilities. For buyers evaluating PAM technology, these findings provide additional context about where certain capabilities within a platform.
Use case: RPAM
KeeperPAM helps organizations govern privileged access for remote users outside an organization, including vendors, contractors, Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and administrators, without granting unnecessary network-level access. In our view, KeeperPAM supports this through the following capabilities:
- VPN-less, clientless session access: Authorized users can access target systems without a traditional VPN client or an agent installed on an unmanaged device.
- Credential injection: Keeper can establish a privileged session without exposing credentials or Secure Shell (SSH) keys to the end user, ensuring the password never reaches the third party or technician.
- Identity-based provisioning: SCIM and SSO integrations help organizations provision and deprovision access through existing identity workflows.
- Time-bound access: Organizations can limit access to defined time periods, instead of maintaining persistent access indefinitely.
These controls can help organizations minimize standing privileged access and more closely govern how third parties and remote users access critical infrastructure.
Recent KeeperPAM innovation
We’re focused on continuously improving the KeeperPAM platform, delivering new capabilities that help organizations secure privileged access, eliminate persistent credentials and govern both human and machine identities. The innovations below reflect that work, from passwordless database access to centralized secrets governance and behavioral threat detection.
KeeperDB for passwordless database access
KeeperDB is a multi-protocol database client that connects to Gateway-protected databases through the KeeperDB Proxy. The proxy injects credentials server-side, so users never handle static database passwords, and it can provision just-in-time ephemeral database accounts, created on demand and removed when the session ends, which reduces dependence on persistent database credentials. Privileged database sessions remain governed through KeeperPAM, reducing credential exposure while maintaining visibility and control.
Universal Secrets Sync for centralized secrets governance
Instead of requiring teams to abandon the secret stores their infrastructure already depends on, Universal Secrets Sync enables organizations to synchronize secrets managed through Keeper directly with cloud-native vaults. This approach allows security teams to centralize secrets governance while enabling applications, infrastructure and DevOps workflows to continue consuming secrets through the native secret stores they already use.
KeeperAI for behavioral threat detection
KeeperAI® provides behavioral threat detection for privileged activity. As organizations increasingly introduce autonomous systems into enterprise environments, monitoring privileged activity across both human and machine identities is becoming a crucial aspect of PAM.
Secure privileged access with KeeperPAM
In our view, Keeper’s placement in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Privileged Access Management, along with the Critical Capabilities research on RPAM and privileged lifecycle management, reflects an evaluation of the problems security teams currently face. Keeper brings password management, secrets management, privileged session management, secure remote access and other PAM capabilities together in a unified, zero-knowledge identity security platform. Whether your priority is eliminating standing access for vendors, bringing machine identities under the same governance as human ones or consolidating PAM into one zero-knowledge platform, the best way to evaluate a PAM solution’s fit is to see it in your own environment. Request a demo of KeeperPAM to see how it works with your systems, identities and access requirements.
