Brave encrypts data at the device level.
Your Keeper Vault can only be accessed after entering your master password and 2FA code.
Brave doesn’t use a master password. Anyone with access to your device is able to access your Brave passwords.
Keeper allows you to securely share passwords and other info with anyone, even if they don’t have a Keeper account.
Brave doesn’t have a secure sharing feature.
All browser password managers are at higher risk of being compromised than a standalone password manager.
This is because, unlike standalone password managers, browser password managers like Brave don’t use master passwords. Instead, they’re left logged in all the time, which allows anyone with physical access to your device the ability to open your browser and see all of the passwords and saved data in your password vault.
Keeper Password Manager is zero trust and zero knowledge. Only users have the ability to decrypt the contents of their vault with their master password. Nobody else, not even Keeper’s own employees, can see what you have stored.
With Keeper, you have the ability to securely share passwords with anyone, even if they’re not a Keeper user, with Keeper’s One-Time Share feature. You can also set time limits and revoke access at any time.
Unlike browser password managers, with Keeper you can store more than just passwords including passkeys, 2FA codes, credit cards, passports, files, addresses and other sensitive information.
Keeper’s autofill feature, KeeperFill, will automatically fill your login credentials, payment card information and other data, like your shipping and billing address, saving you time. Even more importantly, unlike the Brave Password Manager AutoFill feature, Keeper will only autofill your information when you’re logged in to the Keeper extension. This means that your passwords and other private data are kept secret, even if your device is stolen, or if you share your device with other people.
With Keeper, you don’t have to use multiple solutions to save your passwords. For example, you won’t have to use Brave password manager and iCloud Keychain. Once your passwords are stored in your Keeper Vault, you’ll be able to access them from anywhere, on any device.
Keeper has a logout timer for the KeeperFill browser extension that you can turn on or off at any time. If you choose to have the logout timer on, you’ll be able to set a timer for when you want Keeper to log you out of your vault automatically. This differs from browser password managers like Brave, where you’ll always be logged in, meaning anyone who has access to your device will also have access to your passwords.
